What you will do
1. National Facility Maintenance Operations
- Lead and manage the facility maintenance strategy for all locations nationwide that are aligned with organizational goals and growth plans.
- Ensure consistent service delivery, response times, and maintenance standards across all sites.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime, extend asset life, and
- Manage vendor relationships, including selection, performance monitoring, and contract negotiations.
- Oversee maintenance budgeting, cost controls, and forecasting for field operations.
- Implement systems to track reactive maintenance requests, work orders, and service levels and standardize processes across all locations.
- Partner cross-functionally to support new site openings, remodels, and closures.
2. Corporate Office Facilities & Workplace Experience
- Oversee maintenance, operations, and workplace services for corporate office facilities.
- Lead Manager of Home Office Operations and Manager of Facilities Maintenance & Planning (HQ).
- Ensure a safe, functional, and engaging office environment aligned with company standards.
- Oversee landlord relationship to ensure well-functioning building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), and janitorial services
- Coordination with other related functions such as PLD, Security, and Admin teams.
- Manage workplace amenities, including food service and employee experience initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in workplace efficiency and satisfaction.
3. Enterprise Energy Management & Sustainability
- Own and lead the organization’s enterprise-wide energy management strategy, including utility cost reduction targets and sustainability goals.
- Develop and execute multi-year energy optimization roadmaps, including capital investment planning for efficiency initiatives.
- Oversee energy procurement strategy and vendor partnerships, ensuring cost-effective and reliable utility services across all locations.
- Provide executive oversight of deregulated energy market participation, contract strategy, and pricing optimization.
- Ensure effective management of utility accounts, including service setup, transfers, and closures tied to real estate activity.
- Lead energy data governance, analytics, and reporting, including benchmarking, cost tracking, and performance monitoring across the portfolio.
- Identify and execute initiatives that improve energy efficiency, reduce costs, and support operational continuity.
- Partner with Real Estate, Construction, and Facilities teams to embed energy-efficient standards into new builds, remodels, and maintenance practices.
- Oversee energy audits, demand response programs, and continuous improvement efforts.
4. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance professionals, facility managers, and café staff.
- Provide indirect oversight and partnership with energy management resources or external providers.
- Establish KPIs, performance expectations, and accountability measures.
- Foster a culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
5. Financial & Strategic Planning
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets across maintenance, energy, and headquarters teams.
- Drive cost optimization across both maintenance operations and utility consumption.
- Identify and execute efficiency opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Analyze trends in maintenance and energy data to inform strategic decision-making.
6. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Partner with field and health and safety teams to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Ensure safe operation of facilities through appropriate preventative and reactive maintenance activities, including regular review of critical infrastructure and utility systems.
- Support environmental sustainability goals and reporting requirements.
- Partner with Risk teams to coordinate and maintain emergency preparedness and business continuity plans.
What you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities, maintenance, or operations.
- Experience managing multi-location facility operations and utility/energy programs.
- Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and regulations
- Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
- Experience in energy management, sustainability, or utility procurement.
- Familiarity with regulated and deregulated energy markets.
- Experience with energy analytics tools, CMMS platforms, or building systems technology.
- Relevant certifications (CFM, FMP, CEM, or similar).

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235).
